INDOROMAN
Founded in 1994 by Gaia Franchetti, Indoroman is the result of extensive research on the "Indo-European" textile heritage, the cultural area imaginatively contained between the Mediterranean and India.
HAND MADE QUALITY AND TRADITION
Every year Indoroman creates furnishings and clothing collections with fine fabrics woven with contemporary hand looms.
Quilts, tablecloths, curtains, sofa covers, sheets, pillows, bags, shawls, clothing and accessories.
Made by combining Italian fabrics with Indian silks and cottons; Cambodian silks, Chinese or Tibetan brocades combined with Ottoman-inspired Turkish fabrics and with symbols and decorative motifs from all traditions.
INDOROMAN IS CULTURE
Fabrics by their nature transmit motifs and designs of remote and different origins. For millennia their commercialization has provided a precious tool for learning about new worlds, bringing cultures together, creating affinities and similarities.
The word textile itself is similar to the term text: text-textile.
Fabrics are history books with the language of woven symbols.
In the belief that textiles, as a means of communication, have been, are, and always will be, a dialogue between Civilizations.
Since the phenomenon of massification represents an imminent risk of extinction of particular and rare artisan skills, if not cared for and cultivated.
Indoroman's intent is to preserve the textile artistic heritage with the desire to trace the infinite path of culture and beauty.
